Is it free? Really?

Yes, DocScroller is a free, mobile web-based guide for your mobile phone and BlackBerry™ at m.scrolling.to; for your iPhone™ and iPod Touch™ at i.scrolling.to; and as a free download for your classic iPod™.

No spyware or adware. No three-year contracts to sign. No telemarketing calls during dinner.

Why free?

I've been asked "Why are you giving this away for free? C'mon, it's a recession and everyone's gotta make a buck."

I create mobile products and services for a living and have a passion for making things that are useful and fun to use. I have been fortunate to have work with many brilliant and talented people, working on some award-winning, fun-to-use mobile phones and services.

It's a nice change to develop Scrolling.TO Scrollers and give them away. And I love the fact that I'm not the only one in T.O. doing it. There are some great, free products and services created in basements across. The original. The better, better way. In fact, there are whole groups of people getting together to do it.

I also love Toronto. Not in a "It's the centre of the universe" kinda way. It's more of a "biking the Don Valley, checking the festivals and exploring any & all construction sites downtown with my three-year old" kinda love.

After living in Germany and the UK for several years, I have enjoyed coming back to Toronto to explore the city. Being a tourist in your own city is fun.

Really? Free?

Not convinced? Well Chris Anderson, editor of Wired Magazine, believes it's the future of business and wrote a whole book on it.

Is this an official guide?

No, not at all. Completely unofficial. But Scrolling.TO goes to great lengths to make sure that the info in the DocScroller is as accurate as the Hot Docs website.
